Agatha All Along Episode 2 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Knowing the Salem 7 are coming (vengeful spirits), Agatha is preparing to leave Westview. Teen tells him he wants her to take him to the Witches' Road. She says it doesn't exist but he knows she's lying and that she has survived it before.
The road will give you the thing you want the most if you make it to the end.
Teen is a big fan of Agatha since her Salem Era. She questions why he would need to seek the road if he has the power to break a spell cast by the Scarlet Witch.
When Agatha asks him his name a spell appears over his mouth.
They need a coven to access the road. She doesn't have one because she killed them.
Agatha walks by what is left of Wanda’s house. The foundation has “evil witch” written in graffiti.
Covenstead Rule: within a 3 mile radius there will be witchy enough people to form a coven with.
Their first stop is at a psychic reader: Madame Calderu. Agatha believes she is a fake until Lilia starts revealing aspects of Agatha's history. This divination witch has been around for over 400 years and she does not want to join Agatha Harkness’ coven.
In the comics, Lilia Calderu was a powerful witch who guarded the Book of Cagliostro and through her divination revealed how powerful Wanda would be.
Lilia blames Agatha for making people believe witches poison apples, kidnap children, and eat babies.
When Lilia still refuses to join her, Agatha reveals that the only way she can steal someone's power is if she is blasted with it.
But what convinces Lilia is a Three Star Rentals eviction notice and the fact that her divination trance led her to write down four names, including her own.
Outside of Lilia's, Agatha sees a crow. Crows are sometimes viewed as an omen of death or a sign of transformation.
Next is Jennifer Kale, a potions witch. She was bound a long time ago and unable to use magic, by walking the road she could get her powers back.
In the comics, Jennifer Kale is a sorceress who has been a part of the Legion of Night and the Midnight Sons. She worked with Doctor Strange and also was an ally of Man-Thing.
She asks Agatha if Teen is another child sacrifice.
Teen tells Agatha they have two more names to go, but whoever the fourth is Agatha is not interested. She eats the list Lilia made so Teen can't see the last name. So they go to the mall to look for Alice, a Blood Witch aka child of a witch.
Her mother was not only a witch but a famous rockstar- Lorna Wu from Lorna Wu and the Coral Shore. Teen shares that his mother went to see Lorna in concert.
Agatha sees a mouse and freaks out. They are seen as an omen for disease and death.
Alice Wu Gulliver is a protection witch who doesn’t believe in the road. Agatha convinces her to join them by telling her she could find the answers about her mother's death.
In the comics, Alice Gulliver is the daughter of August Wu of the Coral Shore, the magical guardian of Hong Kong. Her mother helped Doctor Strange during his hunt for Dormammu and she died after a demon killed her. Her powers passed to Alice who became a police detective.
In the show Alice is a former police officer who has streaks of red hair in a callback to the comics when the characters natural brown hair turned red to be more like her mother's.
Agatha says Teen is Todo (Wizard of Oz), her familiar.
Every time Teen starts to talk about himself his voice gets muffled out. All that you can hear is that he was born in Eastview.
Back at her house, Agatha sees a coyote, a symbol of cunning and trickery.
The coven assembles but they point out they need a Green Witch. Lilia says the fourth name on the list was a black heart. This points to Vidal and her comment about having a black heart.
Vidal is not in the comics, however she could be a nod to Dian aka Declan Dane aka the Emerald Warlock. Dane was one of the characters in the Witches' Road storyline. He aimed to kill Wanda by draining her powers.
Agatha refuses to get Vidal and instead grabs Mrs. Hart who is actually Mrs. Davis. Mrs Hart was what Wanda called her.
Back in the basement they sing The Ballad of the Witches.
The camera work is similar to that of That 70's Show which stars Debra Jo Rupp.
Meanwhile, Teen is playing Señor Scratchy when the Salem 7 arrive and attack the house.
At first there is no door to the road and Agatha yells at the others, trying to get them to blast her with their powers. They refuse but the door finally appears and they all walk through it and onto the Witches' Road.
Episodes 1 and 2 of Agatha All Along are now streaming on Disney+.
