Whenever a new Marvel Studios project is announced, the fan theories aren't far behind. Deadpool and Wolverine is no exception and outside of Multiverse of Madness, it has had some of the wildest rumors we have ever seen. Director Shawn Levy and the cast decided to set the record *mostly* straight.
Deadpool and Wolverine Cast Talk Fan Rumors & Stray Kids
There have been so many fan rumors swirling around since Deadpool & Wolverine began shooting. From who is playing Ladypool to the King of England things have gotten wild out there in the fan theory side of the internet. Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman shared their favorites.
Shawn: That King Charles is in the movie.
Ryan: He wanted to be in the movie. We left a message.
Rob Delaney: He was Prince when you started production and then he was gonna do it, but then he became King, so he couldn't wait.
Hugh: I like the one that Ryan is Lady Deadpool. I've actually been spreading that.
Ryan: My favorite one is that I'm Ladypool. That's what's gonna happen, I'm gonna take the mask off. As if I could! My hips, they lie like hell. Those hips don't lie. That is a red Jaguar coming at us.
What isn't a rumor is that the Stray Kids have a new song listed on the soundtrack– Slash. But did you know they almost had a cameo in the film too?
Ryan: I kind of tangentially known them now for years. Really, it's more to do with [South] Korea. South Korea understands how to make gigantic global impressions in culture, through film, through music, art of any kind. Years ago, the Stray Kids did a Deadpool inspired music video, which I saw. I thought [it] was phenomenal and then I reached out to Bang Chan. He and I kind of became sort of fast digital friends and now we've met in person.
The initial plan, I've never said this out loud before, was to have them appear in the film. But with the strike happening in the middle and so many other issues it became logistically impossible. I will never forget the look on our line producers' face when I said that there are eight of them.
Deadpool and Wolverine releases in theaters July 26. It is rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore and sexual references with a runtime of 2 hours and 7 minutes.
