Daredevil Born Again Episode 1 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Foggy, Karen, and Matt leave their office (Nelson Murdock Page) to head to Josie's bar. They are celebrating Cherry retiring from the force.
The address for Nelson Murdock Page is 468. Daredevil #468 is “The Secret Life of Foggy Nelson,” the one where he fakes his death.
When asked about the future of law enforcement, Cherry tells Detective Kim that Daredevil and White Tiger are the future.
Foggy is talking to Kirsten McDuffie about his case that he is about to win. His client Benny calls him, worried that he is in danger.
Matt puts on the Daredevil outfit and hurries over to Foggy's place. He hears Benny tell Foggy he's sorry but “he wanted to know where you were.”
Foggy is shot by Bullseye aka Lester Poindexter. He aims for Karen too but Daredevil attacks him.
Matt is hearing Foggy dying on the street below as he fights with Bullseye. Enraged, he throws Lester off the building, but of course he survives.
One Year Later… Kingpin is getting ready for his day. He is going to run for Mayor of NYC.
The Five Families are meeting to discuss Red Hook Port. Luca, Viktor, and Vanessa Fisk are present.
The door opens and Kingpin appears wanting to see Vanessa. She is wearing his usual white suit while he is wearing black.
They talk about the recovery he had to go through after the incident in Hawkeye where Maya shot him in the face. We already knew he survived though thanks to his appearance in ECHO.
BB Urich, niece of the late Benjamin Urich, has her own news show where she interviews people on the streets of the city. Everyone in the city has been talking about how Daredevil has been gone and the crime has gotten worse. They want him back.
Matt goes into his new office: Murdock and McDuffie. Kirsten is worried about him since it is Bullseye's sentencing day.
During the court case, Karen shows up. Bullseye is sentenced to life in prison.
Matt and Karen talk. She's been in San Francisco but is concerned about Matt. When she asks about Daredevil, he tells her he won't himself be that person anymore. The law can handle everything. She found one of his devil horns at Josie's and hands it to him.
He hears Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin on TV talking about becoming the mayor. Everyone on the street seems happy about Fisk running. “Fisk can fix it” is trending. But he still needs to beat Roger Cressna and Diana Montoya.
Kirsten sets Matt up on a blind date with her friend who is a therapist named Heather Glenn.
In the comics, Heather is the daughter of a businessman who met Matt randomly and the two had a relationship. She ended up dead after her life spiraled and she betrayed Matt by telling people he is Daredevil.
Cherry has done some digging on Fisk. He tells Matt that everything looks legit but they both know better. Cherry tells him to leave it alone.
During the debate, Fisk says Cressna wants to register vigilantes. He wants to purge the city of them.
Matt and Fisk sit down at a restaurant to talk. Neither of them go to Hell's Kitchen anymore but they both miss Becky's Diner.
“I tried to mentor someone” – Fisk “Didn’t she shoot you in the face?”- Matt
Fisk says that he kept his promise to Matt and had nothing to do with Foggy's murder.
Matt says he stopped being a vigilante because a line was crossed when his best friend was killed. But he warns Fisk if he steps out of line that he will be there.
Likewise, Fisk tells him that once he is mayor he won't allow anyone to run around in silly costumes.
During his dinner date with Heather, it is announced that Wilson Fisk has been elected as the 112th Mayor of New York City.
Vanessa watches Fisk. He tells her that he knows about Adam.
As his acceptance speech plays, there are review quotes for Rogers the Musical on the billboards.
