Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
In jail, Doc Ock is being detained for violating the Sokovia Accords. He has read them, pointing out that they didn't use spell check and also that everyone in NY has probably violated them.
Osborn pays him a visit, bragging about what Oscorp has done since Otto left the company. He also tells Otto that he was the one who found him and tipped off Ross. In exchange for Otto's location, Ross is granting Oscorp access to all the documents and gadgets seized from Doc Ock's lab.
He threatens to kill Osborn.
Don, Lonnie, and Dozer show up to Doc Ock's lab but the police are already there emptying it out. Don is still determined to get his hands on some weapons.
They chase down the truck holding all the confiscated materials from the lab. Lonnie doesn't want innocent people to get hurt. The truck almost hits Nico but Spider-Man saves her, wearing his new (and classic) red and blue suit.
Spider-Man faces off with the 100 and 10th gang and sees that Lonnie is with them. But before they can really talk, Scorpion shows up with his gang and everyone starts fighting.
Peter has a minor panic attack when he sees Scorpion again, but overcomes it and saves Don from being killed. Don then runs away and leaves everyone to fend for themselves.
Lonnie fights Carmilla, trying to save as many people as he can. Dozer tells him to look for something in the truck they can use. But when he gets in there, a vial is leaking causing Lonnie to get weak and pass out.
Spider-Man dodges Scorpion, who ends up electrocuting himself but he's not 100% out of the fight yet.
Lonnie wakes up and grabs a weapon to help Spider-Man. It's some sort of glowing staff. But it's Lonnie himself that is more impressive. He is able to stop Scorpion's tail and break the tip of it. Lonnie is now exhibiting Tombstone's comic book powers:
- Super-Strength
- Bulletproof Skin
- Superhuman Speed
- Superhuman Stamina
- Hand-to-Hand Combat
Together, Lonnie and Spider-Man take out Scorpion, or so they thought.
Scorpion drops a steel beam on Lonnie, upsetting Peter. Peter thinks about Osborn telling him not to hold himself back with the villains, to embrace his power and use it to stop them. Spider-Man is beating up Scorpion, almost to the point of killing him, when Lonnie stops him. “People look up to you, don't throw that away.”
Nico and Peter reunite and apologize to each other. She tells she sees him as a hero and they promise no more secrets. But she looks at the purple necklace she wears…in the comics Nico is able to use Blood Magic to help her with spells.
Peter answers a call from Osborn. He tells him they have recovered almost everything from the truck except for things that were damaged in transit. The vial that affected Lonnie: DIOX-3 is shown on Osborn's screen. This is the chemical that gave Tombstone his powers in the comics. It was developed by Alchemax.
At a meeting, Osborn is getting an update from his team. All the stuff from Otto's lab has been unloaded and categorized. The glider prototype is coming along. Whitman says that Peter has created an innovative magnetic generator and the other interns' work is promising.
He also tells Osborn that his “other duties” aka experimental tests, have been going extremely well. They have been working with Spider-Man’s blood (taken from Peter after his near-death fight with Scorpion) and are attempting to recreate his unique DNA structure.
