Skeleton Crew Episode 4 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Rennod's Ghost, I can't believe it- the crew of the Onyx Cinder arrive at At Attin. KB spots houses and they try to head in that direction.
The planet is surrounded by Climate Controlling Satellites. This could be why the planet is destroyed (remember Operation Cinder?)
The ship's auto pilot engages and they land in a foggy area that looks like an abandoned neighborhood.
Wim wonders if they fell asleep for 100 years like the Tales of the Knight.
KB thinks this might not be At Attin but one of the other planets (Jewels of the Republic) that Kh’ymm mentioned to them.
The abandoned house looks just like Fern's, including a mural depicting the other Jewels of the Republic.
On the ship Jod is going through Wim's things. He finds his credits. SM-33 finds him and attacks, calling him a thief. JOd reminds him of his name which seems to unlock some of SM-33's memories.
He confirms the planet's name is At Achrann. He says it reminds him of At Attin, but then loses his memory again saying Can't Say I Remember No At Attin.
SM-33's lost memories resemble BEN from Treasure Planet, an old robot whose memory was erased by Captain Flint.
The kids are caught by two members of the Troik. The girl tells them the Hattan are after them. This planet has been destroyed thanks to a war between the two clans.
With the Hattan patrol are Eopies, first seen on Tatooine in The Phantom Menace. These are slightly different but closed captioning confirms they are the same creature. Eopies are essential to the Troik's way of life on At Achrann.
Where the kids are hiding, there is an RX-series pilot droid, the same model that originally piloted the shuttle in Star Tours before C-3PO took over in 2011.
The Troik kids take Wim, Neel, Fern, and KB to their base, located inside a school. They meet General Strix. His daughter Hayna is the one who rescued them. He does not know where At Attin is located. Hayna thinks there might be answers in the Fallen Sanctum.
Before they are allowed to enter the Fallen Sanctum they must train with the Troik warriors.
Hayna's blaster resembles a Dalek gun from Doctor Who.
Jod takes SM-33 off the ship trying to jog his memory. They are surrounded by Hattan warriors.
When Wim fires the large blaster (after changing its output) it knocks him to the ground. Looking up, the ceiling looks similar to the exit of Rise of the Resistance located in Galaxy's Edge.
Strix tells the kids their final test is to lead them into battle against the Hattan. This fight is reminiscent of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys fighting Captain Hook and his crew.
Jod finds the kids and returns the Eopies to the Troik. Hayna agrees to take them to the Fallen Sanctum.
While they walk, Jod tells them how he and SM-33 used Wim's Republic Credits to buy the Eopie herd.
The Fallen Sanctum is this planet's version of the Supervisor's Tower.
Inside the tower, they learn the names of the other Old Republic Jewel planets: At Aytuu, At Arissia, At Aravin, and At Acoda.
Each of the names have a connection to ancient kingdoms: “Aten” is a name of one of the aspects of Sun God Ra and the name of a lost golden city discovered in 2021.
Achrann derives from Acheron, the River of Woe in Hades.
Aytuu is derived from Aitu, a Polynesian word for malevolent spirits/ghosts.
Arissia could be derived from the ancient Roman town of Aricia associated with the goddess Diana and Virbius, the first priest of her cult.
Aravin could come from Arawn, the Celtic God of Death.
Acoda could be a nod to Coda, an ancient Indian dynasty.
The coordinates to At Attin have been destroyed.
SM-33 reveals he is the one who destroyed them. With his memory finally restored, SM-33 tells everyone that the original captain of the Onyx Cinder killed his crew and ordered the coordinates to be erased. This is similar to Captain Flint's story in Treasure Island.
SM-33's transformation into a a killing machine resembles the Empire's E-XD Series Infiltrator Droids first seen in Star Wars Rebels.
