2024 Holiday Gift Guide
For the tweens, teens, young adults, and adults on your list here are our top picks for the holidays!
Must Have Tech Gift Guide
This version of the popular Nintendo Switch features a vibrant 7-inch OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64 GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio. Like the original Nintendo Switch, it also converts for 3 modes of playing: TV mode, tabletop mode, and handheld mode.
If you're like me, then having cords all over the place drives you crazy. All the big wires have been handled but with charging cables sometimes things can still get out of hand. Enter the DeskBrick. This weighted cord holder is great for keeping track of not only your cords but also AirPods, USB drives, pencils…even your phone.
And even if you're at home cord situation is under control, raise your hand if you travel. I do and trust me, CordBrick is your new friend. This has become a staple in my suitcase. It does everything DeskBrick can do but is perfectly sized for taking with you on the go. I have one in my suitcase and one in my laptop bag. It's a great stocking stuffer and perfect for anyone on your list!
HyperX Cloud II Wireless Gaming Headset
If you're a gamer you need a headset that can keep up with those all-day marathons. The HyperX Cloud II is a durable set that can handle your teen's “passionate” gameplay. It can also deal with adults who equally get hyped, ask me how I know. They are available in multiple colors.
Best Choice Products Swivel Gaming Chair
To fully enjoy the video games recommended below, your gaming set up needs to be on point. These gaming chairs recline, offer support, and for those of who need it…arm rests. (It's kinda like having pockets in your dress when you're a woman) These are also available in multiple colors.
Video Games Gift Guide
I wasn't sure how Nintendo would level up after Mario Party Superstars but they pulled it off with the incredible Super Mario Party Jamboree. It reminded me of the Nintendo 64 days but with improved mechanics and exciting new game boards to play with or against your friends. As an experienced gamer, I'm always looking for a challenge, and this Mario Party allows you to enable Pro Rules to reduce luck-based elements, forcing you to become more strategic in order to win. It also features character-specific challenges, minigames (both new and returning fan-favorites), as well as inventive games that will keep everyone entertained for hours upon hours of playtime.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is pure not-so-scary fun. Fans of the original and newcomers alike are going to want to add this one to their Switch collection. For us who have been around for a bit, the in-game 3DS and classic sounds are sure to take you back to the earlier 2000s, no need for Professor E. Gadd's teleportation machine. Featuring updated graphics and mechanics but losing none of its charm, this ghostly romp with Luigi is still as entertaining and sometimes as puzzling as ever. Although this time we have the benefit of easily looking up solutions to specter problems!
Princess Peach: Showtime! is the game I wish I had as a kid. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing as Mario, Luigi, and even Yoshi (Yoshi's Island is iconic) but I always wanted something more for Peach than just floating through the air. Showtime not only gives Peach the spotlight but also lets her have something that is wholly unique. Aside from scratching an itch for gamers like myself, Showtime is a platformer the whole family can enjoy no matter their skill level. It's entertaining, lovingly detailed, and above all fun. Nintendo has certainly put on a great show with this one and I hope Peach gets another game like it soon.
It's been over a decade since we had a traditional Mario 2D sidescroller and Super Mario Bros. Wonder does not disappoint. New power-ups (including the ridiculously fun Elephant Fruit), creative levels, and dazzling worlds not only bring a fresh feeling to familiar gameplay but are guaranteed to bring immediate smiles. This game really is, as the name suggests, full of wonder. Every frame is packed with vivid colors and imaginative style while the special Wonder effects turn expectations upside down, sometimes quite literally. Whether you play solo or with up to three friends. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is an absolute joy to play.
Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
Zelda finally gets to star in her franchise. The echo summoning is clever and makes for some serious fun gameplay. It wouldn't be a Zelda game without some clever dungeons and puzzles to be solved. It captures the nostalgia of the 3D Zelda games but maintains the creativity introduced in Breath of the Wild that fans have come to love. We can only hope this means more Zelda headlining outings in the future.
Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports
I know I can't be the only one who remembers the SNES games Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge and Looney Tunes B-Ball. Bamtang Games and GameMill Entertainment are looking to bring back all that fun with the new Looney Tunes: Wacky World Of Sports. Lace-up as one of the original Looney Tunes and play against the others in both solo and multiplayer tournaments. As a child of the 90s, I'm always happy to see these zany characters pop up in new places and this makes an ideal setting for them. Wacky World of Sports aims to make it feel like you're inside the cartoons, capturing the colorful world, quirky behaviors, and overall feel of those classic Warner Bros shows.
This is a must for Dragon Ball fans. Over 180 characters, incredible fight animation, with single player, multiplayer, and online options available. You can play through battles from the original story or create new encounters with your favorite Z-fighters. You can also take your shot at conquering the World Martial Arts Tournament with your specially selected team.
GAMES, COLLECTIBLES, & STOCKING STUFFERS
Topping my personal list this year are more Anime Figurines! Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, Solo Leveling, I just need more. Amazon has an extensive selection of legit figures including this Shoto Todoroki from My Hero Academia.
Stitch Merry Mischief Card Game
If it's Stitch it's a must in this house. Stitch is excited for the holidays but that excitement is causing him to unwrap presents! Players must choose which presents to try to sneak past Stitch. Roll the dice to find out which gifts he unwraps! The one who saves the most presents wins!
Something Wild puts a new twist on family game nights with six different Disney-themed sets featuring adorable figures of our favorite characters. The more sets you collect the more fun there is to be had by the whole fam! Power cards add in a fun twist as do the Pops which aren't just adorable they can help you win the game too. Play numbered and colored character cards to make sets and runs. These make perfect stocking stuffers!
Because you can never have too many collectibles on your shelves! This is the perfect go-to gift because you can either get your loved one a figure of something or someone they like or you can even make them their own personalized POP. POP Yourself is available on the Funko Website.
BOOKS
Here is a YA novel that is light on the spice and a perfect intro for those not quite ready to dive into *that* side of the genre. The Thirteen Child is an intriguing, mysterious delight from start to finish. Erin A. Craig knows how to world-build and write a FMC that you're going to instantly want to root for. I hope she revisits this world, because I feel like there is so much we have yet to discover within it.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Chalice of the Gods
Rick Riordan has gifted us with more Percy Jackson! Continuing from the original series, Riordan has released two new books: Chalice of the Gods and Wrath of the Triple Goddess. Both books reunite us with our favorite Half-Bloods and Satyr as they tackle new adventures in an attempt to get Percy into college. Good times!
Got a Swiftie on your list? I bet you do. Perfect as a stocking stuffer, under the tree, or just because, Mad Libs has released “For the fans- Taylor Swift Edition” and do I need to say anything else? Swifties love anything that is Taylor's Version.
Other versions are available as well, including the DC super-villains and other fandoms.
The Last Kids on Earth: The Graphic Novel
The best-selling novel is now available in graphic novel form. We also felt like these stories would be perfect as comic books and now we get our wish. My one kid who is not the biggest fan of reading (yes it hurts this book nerd's heart to type that) really enjoyed Max Brallier's writing and going along for the ride. Brian Churilla's illustrations pop, giving the adventures a whole new life.
Star Wars Crossword Puzzles And Other Word Games from a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Test your wisdom and see if you're more Yoda than Jar Jar with this Star Wars Crossword Puzzles and other word games book. I will fully admit I got this for someone but was way too tempted to see how good I was at them. Looks like I will be buying another copy for my friends. Sorry not sorry.
Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Box Set Volumes 0-18

So save yourself the hassle and pick up the manga so that for better or worse (depending on your favorite character!) you will know what is going on before some random TikTok on your FYP gives it all away!
