Some epic lightsaber battles and Force usage happens as the Jedi face off against the Master aka the Stranger. And when they are unmasked? I had a feeling this is who was behind everything but woah! Let's get into “Night” with this The Acolyte Episode 5 Easter Eggs, breakdown, and recap.
The Acolyte Episode 5 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Osha wakes up on Khofar, not far from Kalnecca's home. She finds PIP and the heads towards the sounds of lightsabers.
She trips over the body of a Jedi.
The Jedi are battling with the Master. He kills another. Yord steps in but is injured. The Master wields the force and his saber with skill, killing 3 more Jedi.
His helmet is made from Cortosis, one of the strongest minerals in the galaxy, and super rare, it can withstand lightsaber attacks and even briefly short out its blade as we saw during the show.
Osha aims her blaster at the Master and fires, getting his attention away from Yord.
Mae watches from inside Kalnecca's as the Master chases Osha. She grabs Kalnecca's lightsaber and goes after them.
The Master almost beheads Osha but Sol saves her. He, Osha, and Yord face the Master. But Sol doesn't want Osha in this fight. He Force pushes her back to Yord who takes her to back to their ship.
Yord finds Bazil and tells Osha they will follow him back to the ship. She wants to go back for Sol.
The Master (Stranger) knows Master Sol. Sol says he can sense something familiar.
“You carry a Jedi weapon, but you are no Jedi.” – Master Sol
Mae rushes out of the house but Jecki attacks. She almost gets Mae in handcuffs but Mae maneuvers herself after only one is locked.
Master Sol demands that the Stranger show their face.
Osha asks Yord what is the Stranger? Yord says he doesn't follow the rules of combat and can get into your head and stay there. Osha says her mother could do that.
Jecki gets Mae in handcuffs. The Stranger attacks Jecki and tells Mae she can learn from this Padawan. They battle, he once again does something to her saber, making it malfunction for a moment. She uses Kalnecca's lightsaber and then her own to continue to fight. Ahsoka would be proud of her form!
Mae runs off. The Stranger destroys Kalnecca's blade before chasing after her.
Yord and Osha enter the part of the forest with the giant umbramoth creatures.
Mae asks for forgiveness from the Master. He cuts her free before making a move to kill her. Sol saves Mae and he and Jecki battle the Stranger.
Osha hears a young Mae calling for her. She tells Yord they have to go back because the Stranger will kill them all. She draws the umbramoths with her light. They follow it.
Jecki cuts off the Stranger's helmet but before we see his face, he kills Jecki by converting his blade into two.
The Stranger/The Master is Qimir.
If you listen, Kylo Ren's theme music can be heard during these moments. Is this the origin of the Knights of Ren?
Sol puts down his saber. Qimir has Mae as a hostage. He tells Sol that Jedi would call him a Sith.
He tells Sol he wants freedom. Freedom to wield his power as he likes without answering to the Jedi. He wanted a Pupil, an Acolyte, but she broke the rules and exposed him. Since the Jedi say he can't exist he will have to kill them all.
Yord and Osha make it back. Qimir kills Yord. Mae runs and Osha stuns her. Sol attacks Qimir.
Sol almost kills Qimir but Osha stops him. Qimir says he has accepted his darkness implying Sol has something to hide.
The umbramoths arrive. Osha puts PIP on Qimir and they attack him, going after the light. He's carried off by the umbramoths.
She wants to know why she shouldn't trust Sol. He tells her he will explain but Mae stuns him.
The sisters reunite. Mae thinks the Jedi turned Osha against her. She wants Osha to choose her over the Jedi. Osha wants to arrest her but Mae overpowers Osha. She then takes Yord's lightsaber and cuts her hair.
Qimir survives. Bazil sees him. He picks up PIP. Sol awakens to find “Osha” telling him that Mae is gone. It is really Mae in disguise.
On the ship, Bazil is sniffing. He wants to give PIP back to Osha but he realizes something is off.
Qimir picks up his helmet and robe. He finds Osha knocked out and covers her with it after using the Force to heal her?! That's not something we see often.
