X-Men 97 Episode 2 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Magneto appears at Coney Island and saves humans as the Ferris Wheel begins to break apart. He has been going around saving both humans and other mutants. Surprising not only the X-Men, but the world at large.
Cyclops can't understand why Professor X would leave everything to Magneto. After he saves Leech and another Morlock Mutant, Magneto tells Cyclops he plans to evacuate the Morlocks to Genosha.
The Morlocks were a large community of mutants who were outcasts, living in the underground tunnels beneath New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The country of Genosha, began as an area where mutants were treated as slaves but eventually became their homeland later on.
Cyclops wants Jean to look into Magneto’s mind but she refuses. Cyclops doesn't want them to leave the X-Men now, despite the impending birth of their son. He wants to keep an eye on Magneto.
Storm is helping Jean pack. Jean pulls out a shirt that she hasn't worn since the battle at the Blue Area of the Moon when she was possessed by a cosmic entity intent on consuming all of existence–The Phoenix Force.
Jean tells Storm she worries about her son being accepted in the world.
Rogue comes to talk to Magneto. He is holding his helmet, the one that he used to block Charles out. She tells him he has to earn the trust of the X-Men. He mentions the chemistry between them but she tells him to leave that cat in the bag.
In the comics, when Legion rewrote reality, Rogue and Magneto became a couple. Once reality was restored, she left him but they both still had feelings for each other.
Helicopters arrive at the mansion. It’s Dr. Cooper with a small army of troops armed with weapons unaffected by Magneto’s powers. However the helicopters aren’t resistant but, in order to gain the trust of the X-Men and the humans, he yields to them, allowing them to detain him for a court hearing.
Watching the trial on TV, Wolverine tells Jean that Cooper has listed every nasty step Magneto has ever taken from here to Asteroid M. Asteroid M is the name of an orbital space station created by Magneto.
Denti is waiting outside the courthouse. He puts on the X-Cutioner mask, preparing to attack the court and Magneto. As the trail goes on, Denti and the other protestors breach the barriers. The X-Men move to help protect everyone.
At home, Jean tells Wolverine the baby is coming so he rushes her to the hospital.
Beast warns the others that the X–Cutioner's armor is constructed from an energy-resistant titanium-laced alloy.
Morph saves Scott from Denti, transforming into Colossus, Psylocke, and other mutants.
At the hospital, the Dr refuses to deliver a mutant baby. Rogue takes his knowledge and uses it to deliver Jean's baby.
Storm saves Magneto from Denti’s blast but is unfortunately hit. The weapon has somehow disrupted her mutant abilities. Magneto captures Denti and takes his weapon.
Furious at the humans, Magneto takes Denti, Cooper, and the other UN leadership high into the air. He tells them he won’t smite them because Professor Xavier wants them to all share the world and he will honor his friend's wishes.
At the hospital, Scott and Jean's son is born. They named him Nathan Charles Summers. This is the mutant that will later be known as Cable.
After the events at his trial, the UN is intent on allowing Genosha into the organization. Magneto warns Cyclops to be vigilant as he and Jean prepare to leave the school.
Beast has figured out how the weapon was able to hurt Storm. Using the same technology as the inhibitor collars, it fired the radiation directly into Storm, which affected her on a cellular level. Hank tells her the effects appear permanent.
Jean refuses to believe that and tells Hank to contact Muir Island. Muir Island is the home of the largest mutant research complex, the Mutant Research Center, that was founded by Dr. Moira MacTaggert.
Storm, alone in her room, decides to leave the X-Men.
Rogue holds hands with Magneto, while Gambit stands outside in the hallway upset.
Morph goes to cheer up Wolverine. They transform into Sabertooth to fight.
That night, another Jean Grey shows up at the mansion, injured, saying she needs the X-Men.
