Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 9 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
On Pabu, life seems pretty normal. Wrecker is overseeing the fishing boats. Crosshair was out helping to fish. Omega is playing with Batcher on the beach.
Hunter appears to update them about Fennec's promise to get them information. She hasn't reached out. Crosshair tells him it doesn't matter, they won't be handing Omega over to the Empire.
Omega follows Batcher to a cavern, even though they have been in it a ton of times, Batcher is worried about it. Omega goes inside to investigate.
Inside the cavern is a ship that belongs to Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman).
Throughout Star Wars canon, Ventress has been many things. The Dathomirian has been a Nightsister, Jedi Padawan under Jedi Knight Ky Narec, before being taken in by Count Dooku and trained to be a Sith assassin. She was also a commander in the Confederacy of Independent Systems military and now she is a bounty hunter.
The guys are looking for Omega when Batcher alerts them she is in the cavern. They see Ventress who tells them Fennec sent her.
She also tells them it's reckless to ask about M-Counts. Before she will tell them what she knows she asks them why it is so important. Omega says the Empire is after one of their friends because she has a high M-Count.
M-Counts or midi-chlorians are in the blood. Everyone has them but the levels vary. Higher levels means they have the potential to be strong in the Force. Omega then blurts out that it's her the Empire is after.
High M-Counts does not someone a Jedi, Ventress tells Omega. To become a Jedi one needs training. She has never heard of a Clone being Force sensitive but it could happen, after all this group of clones are not normal.
Omega wants to know if she actually has a high M-Count. Ventress tells her she can't know Omega's midi-chlorian levels without testing her. Omega-“Test me. I need to know what I am.”
The first test is about balance and letting go of your conscious mind. Omega tries to concentrate but struggles balancing.
Omega thinks Ventress is a Jedi, but she says she only knows some of their ways.
After checking Tech's files, Crosshair tells the others Ventress is a Separatist assassin.
The next test- retrieve a white blossom from a Weeping Maya Tree at the very top of the hill before the sun sets.
After Omega runs off, Ventress warns the Batch not to do whatever it is they are planning because it won't end well for them.
They want her to leave and she will, but only after she finishes testing Omega. They start to fight Ventress who uses the Force to take their weapons.
She defeats them and orders them to stand down. Hunter replies “we're not good at following orders.”
Omega makes it to the tree with the help of Batcher.
Ventress wasn't planning on killing the Bad Batch. Omega returns to see Ventress Force Choking Wrecker.
She tells the Batch they were all pawns in the same war. The Empire is more dangerous than they could ever know and although she is many things, she is not their enemy.
Hunter still doesn't trust her but Omega thinks Ventress deserves a chance. People can change.
The final test: Connecting with nature. Omega and Ventress head out in a boat to the middle of the water.
Omega is frustrated trying to connect with whatever might be out there. Ventress tells her using The Force is different from being a soldier and that her brothers can't help her with this.
Ventress shows Omega how it is done, calling to the wildlife. Glowing stingray-like creatures begin to circle the boat. However they attract something far bigger. A large turtle-like creature with tentacles attacks their boat. It pulls Omega into the water.
Seeing all that happen from the shore, the Batch get on the Marauder and fly out to help them. Ventress saves Omega and tells the others to back off. Using The Force, she connects with the creature and calms it.
According to Ventress, Omega doesn't have a high M-Count. After Omega leaves, Crosshair calls her a liar.
Ventress tells them if Omega had that potential it would mean she would have to leave them behind. She tells them they need to leave Pabu because they aren't safe here.
