Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 7 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
After explosions close off their immediate means of escape, Rex tells them there is another way off the Spire. They must make their way down to the Leech Vessel.
Leech Vessels are ships preferred by pirates for the purposes of boarding other ships. It was previously seen in another episode when Echo was with the crew of the Remora who nicknamed the vessel The Leech.
The Shadow, Clone X, somehow survived the explosions. Commander Wolffe questions X about his actions and asks him why he hurt other Clones. The Shadow doesn't care in the slightest and even as Wolffe takes command of the troops, the Shadow ignores orders and jumps down the hole to go after Rex and the others.
Rex and the others make it to The Leech and start to fly away but the Clone X trooper shoots them down, forcing them to crash in the jungle.
When Crosshair is questioned again, he tells Rex the reason he left the Empire is because loyalty meant something to him and he realized that it didn't to them. When he found out they saw him as disposable, he left.
They race to meet Echo at the extraction point but there are squads of troopers in their way. Not to mention the Shadow continues to follow them. Crosshair tells them all to run while he draws his fire.
Crosshair and the Shadow fall into the water and continue to fight. The Shadow tries to drown Crosshair, who almost dies, but the others come to save him. However, The Shadow falls over the waterfall and they presume he has drowned.
A ship finds them, but it isn't Echo. It is Commander Wolffe and his troopers. Rex tells everyone to lower their blasters. He explains to Wolffe what is happening to their brothers on Tantiss, what they are all fighting for. Wolffe can’t believe that the Empire is experimenting on the Clones.
Echo finally arrives. Rex tries to convince Wolffe to join them, he doesn't, but he does allow them to leave.
In the end, thanks to Star Wars Rebels, we know that Wolffe does join Rex and Gregor to fight against the Empire.
Somehow the Shadow survived his fall over the waterfall, which again seems to point to the fact it could be Tech but also it can't be. Or maybe it can. Thanks Filoni and crew for keeping the delusions alive.
In hyperspace- Rex tells Hunter he needs to figure out why Omega is so important to the Empire because it is the only way to keep her safe.
