It's all come down to this– Mandalorian Season 3 Finale. Din and Grogu attempt to stop Gideon once and for all. It's time to take back Mandalore but will everyone survive this battle? Let's get into Chapter 24 “The Return” with this Mandalorian season 3 episode 8 easter eggs and breakdown.
The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 8 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Bo-Katan and the others race to get out of Gideon's facilities. She tells Woves to get the fleet out of there before the Tie Interceptors and Bombers can destroy it.
Din attacks the Dark Troopers that are taking him prisoner. He is saved by Grogu in the IG-12 suit. He tells Grogu this will never end unless they take out Moff Gideon.
Gideon is staring at a map of the facility. He knows Din and Grogu have escaped. He tells the Dark Trooper he will take care of them himself.
The Interceptors and Bombers have been released to go after the Mandalorian Fleet.
Din contacts R5 and tells him he needs to sneak into the base to find the location of Gideon's command center. R5 is naturally nervous but does what Din asks. A Mouse Droid almost catches him but R5 gets the info.
Woves makes it back to the fleet and gives them orders to head to the ground as reinforcements. He will deal with setting up the Light Cruiser as a decoy.
The Mandalorians enters Mandalore's atmosphere just as Gideon's fleet arrives. They attack the cruiser and Woves takes out as many as possible before being overwhelmed.
With R5's help, Din enters the shielded hallway we saw Gideon walk through in the last episode. He takes out all the Dark Troopers there. R5 is harassed by Mouse Droids but gets away.
Inside the Cloning Room, Grogu and Din discover Moff Gideon's Clones. Din destroys them before moving into the command center.
The Captain of the surviving Mandalorians lead them to a garden area. Bo-Katan and the others are amazed that plants can still grow on the planet. The Armorer announces the reinforcements have arrived and they go to join them to take back Mandalore.
Bo-Katan, The Armorer, and the others go into battle with Bo-Katan leading the charge wielding the Darksaber.
Gideon confronts Din in the command center. Grogu hides. Gideon reveals his clones would have the one thing he never had- The Force. His plan was to create an unstoppable army.
Din is surrounded by the Praetorian Guards and Gideon. When they get him down, Grogu steps out to stop them. They go after Grogu, the door closing between him and Din as Gideon pulls Din back.
The Guards destroy IG-12 but Grogu Force jumps away and laughs.
Bo-Katan arrives to take on Moff Gideon. She tells Din to go save Grogu.
Din and Grogu work together to take out the Praetorian Guards.
Woves arrives with the damaged Light Cruiser. He tells Bo-Katan to clear everyone out so he can use it to destroy the base. Gideon crushes the Darksaber.
He thinks he has her beat, but Din and Grogu appear to help her take out Gideon.
Woves escapes as the Light Cruiser crashes. Gideon is swallowed up in flames and Grogu uses the Force to save himself, Din, and Bo-Katan.
At The Living Waters, The Armorer finishes Ragnar's pledge to the Creed while Din, Grogu, and the others watch.
Din wants Grogu to take The Creed and move from Foundling to Apprentice. The Armorer tells him no since Grogu cannot speak. Din adopts Grogu. Din Grogu and Din now must leave Mandalore to go on a journey much like Din did as an apprentice.
Grogu looks into the Living Waters and beneath the surface the Mythosaur opens its eye.
Bo-Katan reignites The Forge.
Din and Grogu go to visit Captain Carson Teva and the other pilots including Trapper Wolf aka Dave Filoni. Look for the hat.
Grogu spots trophies above the bar including a Tie Pilot helmet, Stormtrooper Helmet with claw marks, and an IG-11 head.
Mando tells Teva he wants to work for the New Republic as an Independent Contractor. He is going back to his Bounty Hunter ways. All he asks for right now is the IG-11 head, for parts.
On Navarro the Anzellans have fixed IG-11. Karga gifts Mando with a home for him and Grogu. In return, Mando gifts Karga with IG-11, the new Marshall.
Grogu and Din settle into their home, with Grogu using the Force to play with a frog.
The Mandalorian Season 3 is now streaming on Disney+.
