The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 3 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Din is now redeemed. Bo-Katan asks him if he saw anything in the waters. He did not see the mythosaur.
They both say This Is The Way. Grogu babbles his own version.
They leave Mandalore and are shot at by TIE Interceptors. These are Thrawn's design. This could mean Thrawn sent them after Bo-Katan. They head for Kalevala.
Din jumps out and gets into the N-1 to take out the rest of the TIEs. Unfortunately there is a whole squadron of Interceptors.
They destroy Bo-Katan's home, she wants to destroy them but there are too many. Din sends coordinates to a safe place and they make the jump to hyperspace.
At an event in Coruscant, Dr. Pershing is speaking to a crowd about the Amnesty Program, a New Republic program aimed at helping those forced to work for the Empire. Pershing claims he did not want to work for them, saying his original intent was to honor his dead mother who could have survived with a cloned heart.
This is the same building that Palpatine told Anakin the story of “The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise” in Revenge of the Sith.
This program is similar to the Alphabet Squadron books where former Imperial officers were put into a sort of rehab program.
He mentions the Kaminoans and what they were able to accomplish with cloning.
After the event he heads towards his Amnesty Housing. His droid driver tells him to visit the Skydome Botanical Gardens. These were first mentioned in Jedi Search, a Star Wars Legends novel written by Kevin J. Anderson. It also mentions the Galactic Museum and the Holographic Museum of Extinct Animals. This museum was also part of the legends novels by Anderson. It was first mentioned in the second book Dark Apprentice.
When he arrives at the housing, he is greeted by Amnesty Officers M34, G27, M40, and G68. Pershing is designated as Amnesty Scientist L52.
G68 (Elia Kane) also used to work for Moff Gideon. She was in the audience during Pershing's presentation. One of them heard a rumor Gideon escaped on his way to the War Tribunal.
His doorbell rings, on his doorstep Pershing finds a box with travel biscuits inside.
The next day a man greets Pershing, saying Happy Benduday. Benduday is the fifth and final day of the week.
He gives Pershing a box of what looks like Indentichips or Imperial Data Cards for the archives.
Pershing and G68 explore a fair on Coruscant. She trained at the Academy here for the Empire. She urges Pershing to continue his research so that it can help the struggling New Republic.
Peak of Umate – the highest mountain on Coruscant. In the background you can hear the March of the Resistance music playing.
At his meeting with the Parole Droid, he asks about pursuing his research. She tells him it is against the Coruscant Accords. These were first mentioned in The Cestus Deception, a Star Wars Legends novel by Steven Barnes.
G68 offers to help Pershing get a mobile lab to continue his work.
At work, Pershing offers to help show how the Imperial Technology he is supposed to destroy can still be used. His supervisor tells him they are busy with the Imperial disposal yards that need to be inventoried and the Alliance fleet that needs to be decommissioned. He could try to file a C-1023 request.
Pershing and G68 go to the Imperial Disposal Yard to find his mobile lab station. After jumping from the train they are in the dump. There is a wrecked Imperial Star Destroyer. Inside they get everything Pershing needs to start his mobile lab. They are surrounded by New Republic officers, G68 has turned him in.
Back in the city, Pershing is put into a mind flayer, although it is now called a 602 Mitgator. The dr in charge is a Mon Calamarian. Pershing tells him “it's a trap.”
Din has led Bo-Katan to a Mandalorian Covert. This is the same planet from Chapter 17. They still live by the old ways. Din tells her to keep her helmet on.
Paz Vizsla confronts them. He calls Bo-Katan Nite Owl. Bo-Katan was the leader of the Nite Owls, an elite squad of Mandalorian females who served in the Death Watch.
He does not believe that they have been to the Living Waters. The Armorer tests the water and determines it is the Living Waters. Both Din and Bo-Katan are redeemed.
