All The Rise of Skywalker Easter Eggs and Cameos You May Have Missed
The Sith Wayfinder although it looks like a Sith Holocron, is in fact new to the franchise.
When Kylo Ren goes to Exegol, Palpatine tells him he has been every voice he has ever heard. Listen for Supreme Leader Snoke and Darth Vader. We also see two Snoke bodies inside a tank as Kylo walks closer to the Emperor.
How did Palpatine survive? This isn't the first time someone who is thrown off a ledge or into an abyss has survived. Darth Maul, Luke Skywalker, and even Ben Solo are thrown away only to come back. So while it's not probable there is Star Wars canon to support it.
On the Falcon, Chewie is playing holochess with Finn and Poe. They swear Chewie is cheating. As Han said all those years ago, let the Wookie win guys. We also learn Chewie is 250 years old.
Using R2-D2 to get a message to Leia is the reverse of Leia using him to get a message to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Rey is determined to finish what Luke started. This mirrors Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens vowing to finish what Vader started.
Kylo pulls a Darth Vader move and uses a Force Choke during the council meeting.
C3-PO tells the group that on Pasaana, the Festival of the Ancestors takes place once every 42 years. The original Star Wars film, A New Hope debuted 42 years ago in 1977.
With Han gone someone had to say it, Lando remarks “I've got a bad feeling about this” when they are on Pasaana.
C3-PO with a classic line “will this agony ever end?”
Director J.J. Abrams is the voice of the droid D-o
D-o's 3 lines on his head remind me of the lines on Mickey Mouse's gloves. So an alternate not-so-hidden Mickey? Maybe it's just me.
The Knights of Ren took a page from Boba Fett‘s book while tailing Poe and others from Pasaana. They hide while Poe hides, waiting to see what direction he goes in, then quietly follow.
Rey asks C3-PO to tell them the odds. Usually Star Wars characters do not want to know the odds.
After Babu Frik resets C3-PO he introduces himself “I am C3-PO, human cyborg relations.” Anthony Daniels had suggested C3-PO's death to JJ Abrams. This wipe of his memory seemed almost like a death to the character.
In Babu Frik's shop look behind C3-PO has he is getting his wiring reworked and you'll see a B1 Battle Droid head. These droids common in the prequels.
Kylo Ren uses the finger point to shut General Hux up. Darth Vader was also known to do this as well as Han Solo.
Rey uses the classic Jedi mind trick on the Stormtroopers.
When Poe, Finn, and Chewie are captured, one trooper says “Shut up Scum.” Which refers to the line Rebel Scum, from the original trilogy.
On the Endor Moon inside the Death Star wreck, there is a callback to Rey's scavenger days in The Force Awakens, as she looks for the Sith Wayfinder.
The Death Star wreckage is full of familiar places, most notably the Throne Room, complete with what is left of Palpatine's chair.
Inside the Death Star Rey faces her biggest fear, herself turning into a Sith. This mirrors every time a Jedi has been shown going into a temple or secluded spot where they face their fears. Rey facing herself is similar to Luke striking down Vader only to find his own face inside the helmet.
Maz Kanata refers to Leia as Princess. This has only been done once in the sequel trilogy and it was C3-PO in The Force Awakens.
Kylo Ren, Ben Solo, when speaking with Han tells him “I know what I have to do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it.” These are the exact words he says to Han in The Force Awakens before killing him.
Han touches Ben's face. Ben says “Dad” and Han says “I know.” This parallels “I love you” “I know.”
Lando shows up at the Resistance base dressed in something familiar. He is wearing yellow and blue. This is a callback of the character's look in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Rey is all set to take up residence on Luke's Island, Ahch-To along with the Porgs. As she attempts to toss the lightsaber into the flames, Luke's Force Ghost grabs it and sits her down for a heart to heart.
In Star Wars Canon, not only is Leia the stronger of the two twins, but she did in fact receive Jedi training. We get a glimpse of this in the scene where Force Ghost Luke is talking to Rey.
To get to Exegol, Rey needs a ship. Force Ghost Luke raises his X-Wing from the depths of the sea and adds a little smirk like see Yoda I CAN do this.
Holdo Maneuver refers to Admiral Holdo's lightspeed jump into a Star Destroyer in The Last Jedi.

Denis Lawson reprises his role as Luke’s x-wing buddy Wedge Antilles. He is easy to spot being an older X-Wing pilot.
Also in the battle scene The Ghost from Star Wars Rebels is shown.

The Battle of Exegol also features the Starspeeder from Star Tours.
Ben Solo reaches Exegol in a stolen Tie fighter. It looks like he is using his father's, Han Solo's blaster before getting Luke's lightsaber from Rey.
When Ben jumps onto the chain leading down into the pit, he remarks ow. It is a very Han Solo thing to say and shows how he is returning to his roots and who he was born to be.
The Emperor is guarded by the Imperial Royal Guard aka the Red Guard.
Another Han Solo is my dad moment, when he finally gets the lightsaber and gestures to the Knights of Ren.
The Sith Throne design is based on the original Ralph McQuarrie sketch of the throne from 1981.
Like in The Return of the Jedi, Palpatine shows Rey that her friends are losing the battle.
Rey asks for the Jedi to be with her, and that is when we hear 12 distinct Jedi Masters speak to Rey through The Force. Those include Obi-Wan, Yoda, Ahsoka, Kanan, Anakin, Luke, Leia, and more.
For all of the Force Ghosts: All 12 of The Rise of Skywalker Force Ghosts
Lando tells Poe his x-wing is not as fast as this ship. The Millennium Falcon is the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
Chewbacca finally gets his medal, it is the same one Luke and Han received from Princess Leia at the end of A New Hope for the Battle of Yavin. According to Force Collector it was Luke's medal Leia left for him.
The Ewoks have a brief cameo here with Wicket and his son Pommet. Warwick Davis reprised the role with his real life son Harrison Davis playing Pommet.
The planets they pan to at the end of The Rise of Skywalker are Cloud City and Jakku.
You know when you see the Jawas and a Sandcrawler you're on Tatooine.
Rey returns to Luke's childhood home. She even slides down the sand like she does in The Force Awakens.
She carefully wraps up Luke and Leia's lightsabers. It symbolizes the twins finally being together after so many years apart, as they should have been swaddled together as babies.
Rey is using a yellow lightsaber made from parts of her staff. Traditionally, yellow blades were seen in the double-bladed staff of the Jedi Temple Guard. These guards were sworn to protect the Jedi Order at the temple on Coruscant. During the Clone Wars they are also used to keep the peace.
Rise of Skywalker Cameos
Jodie Comer plays Rey's mother. She also wears the same triple-bun hairstyle which is wear Rey got her look from.
Composer John Williams appears on Kijimi as the eye patch wearing bartender in the Cantina scene, Oma Tres. Oma Tres is an anagram for Maestro. Behind him on the shelves include objects from his other famous films. Hook anyone?
Kevin Smith is one of the people on Kijimi Poe sneaks past.
Also on Kijimi, Ed Sheeran is a Storm Trooper and if Mark Hamill is to be believed, Harry Styles is as well.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is a resistance fighter somewhere in the crowd during the celebration of the defeat of Palpatine.
Boolio, the friend of the Resistance who loses his head in the beginning, is voiced by Mark Hamill.
Chris Terrio, co-writer of The Rise of Skywalker, voices Colonel Aftab Ackbar the son of Admiral Ackbar.
Shirley Henderson is the voice of Babu Frik. You might remember her as Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films.
