Christmas season has officially kicked off! The music, the decorations, and all the amazing events that are going on around the country. The magic is certainly in the air. Our family recently experienced the best holiday event in our area: Gaylord National Christmas on the Potomac! This is a a must do for any family visiting or living in the DC area.
They couldn't wait to get to breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends!
From now until January 1st 2017 you can experience everything the Gaylord has to offer for the season. The entire resort is like a Christmas wonderland. With special shows in the atrium, activities for the whole family, and the number one holiday attraction in the Capital Region- ICE, Gaylord National is the place to be for the holidays.
Our Christmas on the Potomac started off with Breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends!
This event includes a buffet breakfast, featuring Peanuts-themed dishes, and one-of-a-kind time with everyone's favorite Peanuts characters!
After breakfast it was time to experience ICE! This year explore Christmas Around the World as you walk through more than TWO MILLION pounds of hand carved ice!
There are ice sculptures, two-story-tall ice slides, a live ice carving demonstration, and more!
The detail of the ice sculptures is amazing. I don't think these pictures do it justice, you have to see these for yourself!
Brr! 9 degrees is quite cold! Time to warm up with the other holiday fun at the Gaylord. Grab your hot chocolate and decorate a Gingerbread. You might even spot a familiar Gingerbread Man! There is also The Elf on the Shelf® Scavenger Hunt, tea cups, carousel, Build-A-Bear Workshop, and more!
At night the atrium comes to life with two free new shows: Very Merry Atrium Show and Rock’n Around the Starlight Tree Atrium Show! Lights dancing, indoor snowfall, 60-feet high water jets, and more will delight the whole family. Shows begin at 6pm nightly. Check with the guide for any changes during your stay.
