Over the past weekend my church put on a big end of year women's event. The theme was Urban Country, which of course I love since I am a country girl at heart. I got to get all dolled up in a plaid shirt and my cowboy boots. The best part of the night was getting up and line dancing with my best friend. I forgot how much of a workout you can get from dancing in boots! Now tonight I go from country to latin and I am pretty sure my thighs and calves are going to hate me.
I am planning this week to drink at least 16oz of water a day. Some of you may remember me saying how terrible of a water drinker I am, and that has not changed. Awhile back, I did good (for me) with this goal and then I slacked off. So wish me luck!
This week on Mamavation TV we are talking about working out with weights. I love working out with weights. My favorite approach to this is to do cardio first and get my heart rate going and then switch over to weights. I also keep doing reps/sets until I feel the fatigue. And after I feel the fatigue I do at least 1 or 2 more reps for good measure!
Do you have any tips for working out with weights?

My tip for working out with weights is to use light ones at first so you don’t break anything. LOL I’m a little clumsy and when I’m doing my walk at home workout I grab some 3lb weights and just do the workout as normal but with the weights. Some days it’s the 5lb weights. It depends on how awake I am and how safe I feel ๐

I have light weights for home and I go for the big boys (10lbs haha) at the gym

Weight training – Get yourself to a Crossfit gym. ๐
We do a lot of strength training and what we do for the most part is to try 3-5 reps with one weight and increase each round until you find out what your max is and we track it. Dancing is so much fun and it’s a lot of work too. Zumba! lol – I’m glad there are fun ways to work out too.

Dancing is my favorite, my Zumba instructor is a guy and he definitely makes you work hard, when I’m feeling brave I put ankle weights on!
